Fort Bend Education Foundation Schlumberger Education Expedition
March 29, 2008

We promise to provide you with a quality ride whether you are training for that all-important BP MS 150 or just wanting a great day with friends. The Schlumberger Education Expedition ride begins at Hightower High School and winds throughout quiet streets and into the countryside, before looping back home.

The routes are new this year and designed to minimize busy intersections while providing a smooth and scenic ride. This BP MS 150 recommended ride offers four routes (82 miles, 56 miles, 43 miles, and 25 miles). Water stations are staffed by volunteers from local schools and they will be vying for the Best Water Station award. Be prepared to be entertained along this route!

We begin at 7:15 am sharp and hope you will register online (www.fortbendisd.com/foundation) before event day to prevent any distractions for you on ride morning. SAG wagons will be on the course to assist you with any needs.

Be prepared to stay and enjoy lunch with your friends after the ride. We are providing a scrumptious lunch and entertainment! This is one ride you don’t want to miss!

Fort Bend Education Foundation now accepting country and food booth applications for the 3rd Annual Passport to the World International Festival
November 8, 2008

The Fort Bend Education Foundation will present Your Passport to the World – An International Festival Celebrating Cultural Diversity on November 8, 2008, from 11:00 am to 4:00 p.m. in Sugar Land Town Square. The event will celebrate the tremendous diversity of cultures in our school district by highlighting different cultures and their unique traditions, arts and sociology.

Town Square will showcase booths from different countries from all over the world and an on-going stage on the steps of City Hall will feature the talented artists and students of FBISD schools as well as various area dance and music schools. Area restaurants will provide a sampling of international cuisines. There will be an activity booth for the children to make cultural crafts. Elementary age children will be given a “Passport” as they visit each country and receive an international goody bag when they leave. New to the festival this year will be a fashion show.

Any individuals or groups interested in representing their country at this event should contact the Fort Bend Education Foundation at 281-634-1110. Booths are limited and will be assigned on a first come basis.

The Fort Bend Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports FBISD by providing funds to support innovative academic projects and teaching materials for FBISD teachers and campuses through grants. Since its inception in 1992, the Fort Bend Education Foundation has awarded over 1.8 million dollars to teachers and schools in FBISD.
