GOT GLAMOUR?
GOT GLITZ?
WE’RE
PUTTING ON THE RITZ!!
The Fort Bend
Education Foundation Gala Committee invites you to strut
your stuff at its fifteenth annual Education Foundation Gala
to be held at the Sugar Land Marriott Hotel on March 1,
2008.
“Putting on the Ritz” is guaranteed to be a
spectacular event. More than 700 people attend the Gala each
year. This year’s event, co-chaired by Peggy Jackson and
Lynn Halford, will be a dazzling evening reminiscent of days
gone by. This distinctive evening will celebrate the
successes of the Fort Bend Education Foundation and thank
the community for its generous support. Dinner, dancing, a
live and silent auction and entertainment are all on the
menu for this swanky event. Keith Kilgore will emcee the
evening, Commissioner James Patterson will act as the
auctioneer and the band, Password, will provide the
evening’s exhilarating music.
The mission of the Fort Bend Education Foundation is to
enrich, enhance and maximize the quality of education for
all FBISD students. Since its’ inception in 1992, the
Education Foundation, has awarded over $1.8 million in
grants to FBISD teachers and schools. Foundation programs
include the Grants for Teachers and Schools Program, Grants
for Experts Program, and Angel Gifts. The Gala is the
primary source of revenue to fund these programs. The Gala
committee and sponsors look forward to a sizzling sponsor
party at the home of Paul and Manmeet Likhari. Don’t miss
the Fort Bend Education Foundation’s “Putting on the Ritz.

Schlumberger Education Expedition
We
promise to provide you with a quality ride whether you are
training for that all-important BP MS 150 or just wanting a
great day with friends. The Schlumberger Education
Expedition ride begins at Hightower High School and winds
throughout quiet streets and into the countryside, before
looping back home.
The routes are new this year
and designed to minimize busy intersections while providing
a smooth and scenic ride. This BP MS 150 recommended ride
offers four routes (82 miles, 56 miles, 43 miles, and 25
miles). Water stations are staffed by volunteers from local
schools and they will be vying for the Best Water Station
award. Be prepared to be entertained along this route!
We begin at 7:15 am sharp and
hope you will register online (www.fortbendisd.com/foundation)
before event day to prevent any distractions for you on ride
morning. SAG wagons will be on the course to assist you with
any needs.
Be prepared to stay and enjoy
lunch with your friends after the ride. We are providing a
scrumptious lunch and entertainment! This is one ride you
don’t want to miss!

schools. Area restaurants will provide a sampling of
international cuisines. There will be an activity booth for
the children to make cultural crafts. Elementary age
children will be given a “Passport” as they visit each
country and receive an international goody bag when they
leave. New to the festival this year will be a fashion show.
Any individuals or groups interested in representing their
country at this event should contact the Fort Bend Education
